Tahini is possible best known as a significant ingredient in hummus. It is a versatile and nutty spread that invites all sorts of creativity in the kitchen. Here are some ideas to play with:
- Avocado Spread - mix with avocado, lemon juice and seasoning
 - Creamy Dressing - mix with yoghurt, lemon juice, water and seasoning (cumin fits deliciously too). Drizzle over roast vegetables or other salads.
 - Hummus - blend with chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic and seasoning (add cumin again!)
 - Red Capsicum Hummus - as above but with a jar of roasted red capsicum added. Yum!
 - Tahini Hot Chocolate - make a super creamy, warming and comforting treat by adding a couple of tablespoons of tahini to your hot chocolate (also does great with turmeric, ginger and cinnamon added)
 - Tahini Brownies - I've saved the best till last! This brownie recipe is AMAZING! Personally I would use rapadura instead of regular sugar, and reduce the sugar slightly. Brownies are great for being very accepting of unexpected ingredients and bases, still producing a delicious, indulgent sweet that is now also nutritious and healthy! See the recipe here.
